PERMANENT MAGNETS · MANUAL & SELF-CLEANING

TRI-POLE

Permanent suspension and overband magnets for reliable tramp-iron removal. Choose manual cleaning or automatic belt discharge to suit your operation.
MAGNET TYPE

Permanent magnet

CONVEYOR WIDTHS

Up to 1800 mm

OPERATING GAP

Up to 400 mm

CLEANING

Manual / self-cleaning

Purpose-built protection

REMOVE TRAMP IRON. PROTECT YOUR PROCESS.

MAGQUIP Tri-Pole Permanent Magnets extract tramp ferrous metal from bulk material streams before it can damage crushers, screens, shredders or mills.

Available in manual-cleaning suspension and self-cleaning overband configurations. Selection is based on contamination level, belt speed, burden depth and operating duty.

+ Construction & demolition waste

+ Quarrying & aggregates

+ Mining & bulk handling

The Tri-Pole advantage

ONE MAGNETIC CIRCUIT. TWO CLEANING OPTIONS.

The permanent magnetic circuit needs no electrical excitation. Manual models use a hinged cleaning plate; self-cleaning models use a powered belt to carry captured metal clear of the material stream.

3

MAGNETIC POLES. BROADER FIELD COVERAGE.
WHY TRI-POLE

PROTECTION THAT FITS YOUR OPERATION.

Shared permanent magnetic performance, with a cleaning method matched to the amount of tramp metal in your process.
01

Permanent magnetic circuit

The permanent magnetic field requires no electrical supply or cooling system. Power is needed only for the drive on electrically driven self-cleaning models.
02

A choice of cleaning methods

Choose a hinged cleaning plate for low contamination, or an automatic cleaning belt for frequent tramp-iron removal and continuous cleaning duty.
03

Built for industrial duty

The magnet casing uses a zinc-rich primer and epoxy top coat for corrosion protection in harsh industrial environments.
CHOOSE YOUR CLEANING METHOD

MANUAL OR SELF-CLEANING. THE RIGHT FIT FOR YOUR DUTY.

FREQUENT CONTAMINATION

Tri-Pole · Self-cleaning

An automatic cleaning belt carries captured metal away from the magnet face. Specify in-line or cross-belt installation to suit the conveyor and discharge path.

Cleaning: Automatic belt discharge
Contamination: High or frequent
Magnetic power: No electrical supply
Cleaning drive: Powered belt drive
Installation: In-line / cross-belt

LOW CONTAMINATION

Tri-Pole · Manual cleaning

A hinged cleaning plate pulls away from the magnet face to discharge collected metal. A compact option where tramp iron is infrequent and installation space is limited.

Cleaning: Scheduled manual discharge
Contamination: Low or occasional
Magnetic power: No electrical supply
Cleaning drive: None required
Installation: Static / suspended

IN-HOUSE ENGINEERING
Construction

ENGINEERED AROUND YOUR APPLICATION.

Both configurations share a permanent Tri-Pole magnetic circuit. Self-cleaning models add a belt, pulley support, drive and guarding for automatic discharge.
MAGNET CIRCUIT
Optimised Tri-Pole circuit using Strontium Ferrite, protected by a zinc-rich primer and epoxy top coat.
PULLEY SUPPORT
Removable bolt-on pulley support channels with deflector plates support straightforward maintenance.
CLEANING BELT
Heavy-duty rubber and polyester cleaning belt with stainless steel cleaning strips.
PULLEYS
Crowned, rubber-lined pulleys with a diamond-back pattern support automatic belt tracking.
DIRECT DRIVE SYSTEM
Helical bevel gear unit with an IE3 premium-efficiency IP66 electric motor.
SAFETY GUARDING

Modular pulley guarding is standard. Fully enclosed guarding with handles is available as an option for improved access and maintenance.

Engineer’s questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED.

Key selection, installation and maintenance questions for engineering teams planning a permanent self-cleaning overband magnet.

The energised coil creates a diverging magnetic field across the conveyor burden. Ferrous objects are attracted out of the conveyed material and retained by the magnet or discharged by the self-cleaning belt.

In-line placement generally provides the best exposure at the head pulley. Cross-belt installation is practical where the head pulley position is inaccessible or where the discharge arrangement suits transverse cleaning.

Self-cleaning is recommended when tramp iron is frequent enough that manual cleaning would interrupt production or create an unsafe maintenance burden.

Provide conveyor width and speed, burden depth, material type and density, maximum lump size, magnet suspension height, contamination rate, installation orientation and available power supply.

Electrical and mechanical components can be specified around site classification and project requirements. Confirm the hazardous-area classification during enquiry.

SEND US YOUR CONVEYOR DATA. WE’LL SPECIFY YOUR TRI-POLE.

Final equipment selection is confirmed against conveyor data, duty requirements and site conditions.
